Beginnings

Matt is a lifelong artist, with music being a central part of a much bigger picture. Born in Nottingham, England, in 1980, he first heard dance music as a child. He was immediately hooked.

When his family got their first PC in ’94, the first thing he did was try to make a track. In ’97, he started DJing, and by 2004 had got into animation. Making his first music video and voiced animation simultaneously. (which you can watch below).

Professional

After university, Matt spent a few years in a hedonistic hangover and creative slump – until something inspired him to pick up a paintbrush again. Not only did it wake him out of his slumber, but a couple of his friends started buying his paintings.

With reignited passion, he went on to set up Elastic Canvas (2007).
Momentum grew, and although very challenging, it was rewarding for his soul.

By 2016, though, Matt was working in so many different fields and fulfilling multiple business roles that the demands were becoming overwhelming.

Something major had to change; he was burnt out, and something was missing. A part of him knew that the answer was in music, and it was the beginning of MDT Vision.

Tried and Tested Methods

Through years of practice, exploration and delivering a wide range of professional projects, he has developed and refined a toolbox of unique, independent creation and teaching methods.

Methods which empower the individual to weave many dimensions together.  Everything is done in the right order, starting with the bigger picture and working down to the fine details.

As an artist, he uses those methods to consistently push the boundaries. In both his musical style and the immersive experiences he creates.

Learning

Although electronic music had always been a major part of his life, there are so many levels to it.

In 2016, as a music producer and engineer, he had a long way to go.

He was dedicated to learning the craft as well as helping others where he could. This involved taking many online music courses (often service swapping with the people who ran the courses), joining groups and learning and producing from dawn til dusk.

Key to growth and connection in all the groups was the giving, receiving and implementation of feedback. After producing hundreds of tracks and giving feedback on thousands more, he became the ‘go-to guy’ for doing so. At one point, he was spending so many hours a week doing it that full weekends were taken up… But it had huge benefits all round.

Teaching

From there, he has taught and mentored many fellow music artists one-on-one. Helping them realise their potential and deepen their love for the craft,

He has developed his own end-to-end system called ‘SEE (Story, Energy + Emotion) Method’ for music production.

A method which gets amazing, consistent results for starting and finishing powerful, moving tracks every time. The system is highly beneficial for producers of any level.

As well as the SEE Method, what gets the results is his teaching style and holistic approach, which is down to his creative background.

DEEP EXPERIENCE

From 2007 to 2025, Matt operated as Elastic Canvas.

It started with him selling his painted artworks, and off the back of that, more opportunities came where he combined his other skills. It very quickly turned into delivering end-to-end creative solutions as a one-man business, which would usually only be available from a full agency.

Clients ranged from individuals wanting to realise a dream, through to the world’s biggest brands.

They all trusted Matt’s unique approach because of his proven results and guaranteed quality at all stages.

Following on from Elastic Canvas and alongside his work as MDT Vision, Matt employs the same synergetic approach, with intensified focus, at THE INSCREEN.
